It's tomorrow. Please help if you can. This is the last time I'm participating, so you won't get another chance...

Only one week till the 2010 Revlon Run/Walk for Women. For various mundane reasons, this will probably be the last year I participate. So if you were ever thinking of supporting me, now's the time.

Please click on the link to my page and help out a bit. All funds raised go to fight cancer. Your donation is tax deductible. Whether it's $50 or $5, I really appreciate it. Lastly, my employer will match 50% of your donation.

If you don't want to use the online donation form, you could print out a form from the website (that's a link to a PDF) and mail that in--my bib number is 116, FYI--or find me and we can take care of it face to face.

Thanks!

[Is anyone still reading here? I've neglected LJ for Facebook and am not sure who's still around...]

Hi all! Less than two weeks to go.

I'm a little more than halfway to my fundraising goal, but pledges have stalled. I know--you see the post, think "Hm, maybe I'll donate," then move on with your day and never get back to it. I urge you to please not just scroll past my message this time, but rather to click on the link to my page and help out. Once again, all funds we raise will go to fight cancer. (And your donation IS tax deductible!) Whether it's $50 or $5, I really appreciate it. Lastly, my employer will match 50% of your donation.

If you are not comfortable using the online donation form, you can either print out a form from the website (that's a link to a PDF) and mail that in--my bib number is 116, FYI--or find me and we can take care of it face to face.

Please help if you can. If you have any questions, write to me. And please, if you've already supported someone else, or are yourself a participant, or for whatever other reason have grown weary of me pestering you, tell me to knock it off. I will, I promise! :-)

Thanks!

Hello! Thought you wouldn't hear from me this year, eh? This is the latest I've started fundraising. I do hope you will help me...

On Saturday, May 1st, I will be participating in the 13th Annual Revlon Run/Walk For Women. You can join me in the fight against women's cancers by making a pledge or donation on my behalf. Your pledge will help fund important research into the cause and cure of women's cancers, prevention, education and support service programs. All funds we raise will go to the cause, not just a percentage.

On a personal note, I had a mammogram scare this past December--I was called back for a second one because the nice people at Guttman Diagnostic had found an "anomaly" in my annual checkup films. I waited hours for the results and was the last one in the waiting area when they called me...to walk me into a room with THREE doctors, all of whom introduced themselves by name. I must have looked as terrified as I felt, because the first one immediately reassured me that all was well. But it might not have been. I think that too many women must have that same gut-punch fear all too often, and I hope that what we raise by walking can go towards reducing that fear.

Here's my fundraising page, where you can make a secure donation if you like. Every little bit will help! No guilt trips. There is no set donation amount. And it's tax deductible! In the past, my company matched 50% of what I raised, but I can't count on that happening this year. It might, it might not.

Thanks very much in advance! My apologies if my plea is not welcome. Also, PLEASE let me know if you've already donated to someone else--or are planning to. I'll go away, I promise!

Hubby sent me this at work last week. I have no idea why, but every time I look at it I fall apart in helpless laughter. It just kills me. So, maybe it'll give a few of you a giggle too. :-)

Just picked these blueberries from the bushes in our garden yesterday morning. Yummy! I wonder where the catbirds all went; usually they beat us to it.

I took a lot of pictures at Down House, Kent, when I was there this past February. I just put a link to the album on Facebook but I'll put it here too. No captions yet, but maybe soon!

Here's one for now. )

This is it. The Revlon Run/Walk is THIS Saturday! And then you won't hear from me till next year. :-) Well, maybe ONE more message to tell you how it went--if it went. My ankle is still giving me trouble. 90% chance I'll do it.

Please be a part of the effort. Go to my fundraising page and help me meet my modest goal! My employer will match 50% of your tax-deductible donation--so if you pledged $20, it would really mean $30 raised!

To date, the Run/Walks (LA/NY) have distributed nearly 55 million dollars for cancer research, treatment, counseling and outreach programs. Thanks in part to these funds, new treatments are being developed and lives are being saved.

If you are not comfortable using the online donation form, you can either print out a form from the website and mail that in (my bib number is 204. Crucial that you include it!), or find me and we can take care of it face to face. Cash is always good!

Please help if you can. If you have any questions, write to me or stop by my office sometime. If you've already supported someone else, or are yourself a participant, or just want me to hush up already, tell me and I will, I promise! :-)

Thanks!
